Frosty Fun: How To Craft A Winter Sensory Box

New fun winter sensory box fun!

It’s time to share this month’s sensory box theme! This month is our Snowy Sensory Box. So easy to make and the little ones will enjoy this one. Because around here we love simple!

Tips:

Here are some tips for making sensory play simple and fun that I have found with our sensory play.

Tip #1:

Start small with a sensory base that feels manageable. One of our favorites for quick play is a mixing bowl with some water, craft pom poms and a spoon. Fun scooping up the pom poms.

Tip #2:

Pre-plan for a mess/clean-up. I always have a towel close by. I have also found that having a cookie tray under our bin helps with clean-up.

Let’s make our winter sensory box:

All these items can be found on amazon. Click on the bold to go to our favorites!

What you need:

How to assemble:

  • Make up your fake snow according to the package.

TIP: want to make the fake snow cold pop it in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.

  • Add your snow to your bin and then add in your animals.
  • Have fun!

How we love to play:

  1. Scoop up the snow with a little shovel or use a spoon.
  2. Use our favorite tools to make “snowballs”

Our favorite tools

  1. Hide and seek. Cover up the animals and try to find them. This also works great with “ABC” magnets for older kids.

We hope you and your little one enjoy this sensory box as much as we do.
