So tasty and easy to make:

I’m a mom of 5 and we are in our busy season. Between school, girl scouts and hockey, I don’t have time for dinner to take forever! This is one we will be adding to our favorite list. Not only was it super good but it’s something easy to make ahead of time and heat up when we’re ready to eat.

Kid approved pasta dinner:

This recipe was a big hit with our family. It’s toddler and picky kid approved. When I can find recipes that my family all enjoy I can’t be the gatekeeper and I have to share with everyone.

Ingredients:

This is a recipe that can easily be made on a tight budget. You might even have everything (Or most) in your kitchen already.

  • Penne Pasta: Honestly you can use what ever pasta you have already on hand. I had rigatoni on hand so that’s what we used in ours. My Kids requested bow ties next time I make this dish.
  • Olive oil
  • Italian Sausage: Want to add a little spice to your dish, use hot Italian sausage.
  • Minced garlic cloves: I used “jarlic” (garlic in a jar). Use whatever you prefer.
  • Tomato paste: You only need 2 tbsp. To keep the rest from not going to waste add to an ice tray and freeze. Once frozen, store in a ziplock bag.
  • Chicken broth
  • Diced tomatoes: There are so many to choose from. I’m thinking the next time I make this dish I will add in the Italian flavor tomatoes just for an extra flavor in this dish.
  • Spices: You will need oregano, basil and parsley
  • Heavy cream: If you don’t want to use heavy cream, half and half is a good substitute.
  • Cheese: You will need grated parmesan and shredded mozzarella
