Budget-Friendly DIY Pumpkin Fall Décor

As the crisp autumn air settles in and the leaves begin to fall, it’s the perfect time to embrace cozy, seasonal décor. Whether you’re hosting a Thanksgiving feast or just want to add a festive touch to your home, pumpkins are a must-have for your fall décor. In this post, I’ll show you two simple DIY pumpkin projects that are not only easy to make but will also add charm to your centerpiece throughout the entire season. These crafts will bring warmth to your table and become the perfect accent for your Thanksgiving celebration!

Twine Pumpkin Decor

These turned out so cute that I want to add more to my fall decor!

I added my twine pumpkin to my kitchen table centerpiece. It adds the perfect touch and can’t wait to add it to my Thanksgiving table this year for our Friendsgiving dinner! Not only does it look super cute but it was so cheap to make. You can find all the items you need at your local Dollar Tree or even at your local Michaels. We also put together a shopping list together here on our Benable to make your shopping easier.

This DIY pumpkin project was found on tik tok by homegooddiys. We didn’t have the right thickness of twine so we decided to braid ours together to make the thickness and it turned out perfect.

What you need:

  • small glass globe bowl
  • Jute Twine
  • LED Tea Lights
  • Fall Leaves
  • Hot glue gun with glue sticks

How to make your DIY Pumpkin:

Cut 9 pieces of twine. We wrapped the twine around our pumpkin to get our measurements. Which was about 9 inches long. You may need more or less depending on the size of glass bowl you’re using.

  1. Grab three pieces of the twine and tie a knot at the top. With the three pieces of twine start braiding them together.
  2. Take your glass bowl and have the open side facing down. Place a small dot of hot glue to your bowl and press on one side the braided twine. Then wrap around the glass bowl and hot glue the other end down by the beginning.
  3. Repeat 2 more times around your bowl. You want your twine to look like pumpkin grooves.
DIY Pumpkin
  1. Hot glue a leaf (or 2) to your pumpkin.
  2. Take a piece of your wired twine about 4 inches long. Start rolling it up on top of each other to make the stem for your pumpkin. Once you have it the way you want you will hot glue it on top of the leaf.
  3. Add in your tea light candle. To help ours stay in place we added a small dot of hot glue to the candle and placed it onto the twine.

DIY Pumpkin Stand-

This is another DIY that is super easy to make and budget friendly with all the items at Dollar Tree. If you’re having a hard time finding these items at Dollar Tree take a look at Hobby Lobby in their Thanksgiving aisles. I also put together some items in our Benable list that would work for this DIY craft.

What you need:

  • Candlestick
  • Small LED Pumpkin or reg pumpkin
  • MinI bow
  • Small Velcro pieces
  • Hot glue gun with glue sticks

These are super easy to make. There are two different ways that you can make these. If you choose a pumpkin that doesn’t light up you can hot glue it down to the candlestick or if it does have lights you can just place it on the candlestick.

If you have kids that like to knock stuff down like my own, here is how I made mine.

  • For my piece to hot glue to the candlestick I just used a small cutout from a fruit snack box that was going to the trash.
  • Once you have something hot glue it to your candlestick. Next you will add the small velcro pieces to both the candlestick and the pumpkin so it’s easy to get off and on when you want to turn on the lights. In the video it shoes I used 2 but then went back and added more so I used 4 on the pumpkin and 4 on the candlestick.
  • After you get your pumpkin on its time to hot glue your small bow to your candlestick. This turned out so cute and it’s the perfect little decoration on my coffee bar!
