One magical tradition that adds a touch of whimsy to Easter is planting a Magic Jelly Bean Garden. The night before Easter, have your kids “plant” jelly beans either outside in the yard or indoors in a small pot filled with soil. Let their imaginations run wild as they wonder what might grow! Once they’re fast asleep, sneak out and swap out the jelly beans and with extra fun lollipops. On Easter morning, your little ones will be delighted to discover that their jelly beans grew into sweet surprises!
Things to add to your next Target pick up order:
As a new Easter tradition, consider making an Easter cake together as a family. It’s a fun and delicious way to spend time in the kitchen, and the finished treat is perfect to bring to your Easter dinner. You can keep it simple with a box cake mix from Target just add a little extra flair with festive frosting and decorations. Or go all out and try a new recipe you found on Pinterest. Either way, it’s a sweet way to create memories and start a tradition your family will look forward to every year.

Another tradition that I absolutely love is creating Easter crafts or decorations together as a family. It’s a fun way to get creative. But it also gives us something meaningful to cherish and bring out year after year. Like painted egg garlands or hand-painted wooden eggs, these little keepsakes add a personal touch to our celebrations. For budget-friendly options, Dollar Tree always has great craft supplies. I also found some super cute $5 kits at Target check them out here! It’s the perfect way to spend time together while adding some festive flair to your home.
Let’s add some Easter Minute to Win It games to our Easter dinner this year! We love playing games as a family. So these will be a perfect way to keep the fun going after the meal. A classic favorite like the Easter egg spoon race is always a hit and guaranteed to get everyone laughing. We’ve also found a bunch of other fun ideas and added them to our Easter Pinterest board to try out. It’s a great way to bring everyone together and make some unforgettable holiday memories!

Here’s a new tradition I recently discovered and I had no idea it even existed! In Bermuda, families celebrate Good Friday with a kite festival, where they fly kites to symbolize Jesus’ ascension into heaven. I absolutely love the meaning behind this and knew right away it was something I wanted to start with my own family. So this year, we’re joining in and making it a part of our Easter weekend. If you’re inspired to try it too, you’ll be happy to know we found some great kites at Walmart. Perfect to add to your next order and get ready to take to the skies!
This year, we’re starting a brand-new tradition, a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt, and we couldn’t be more excited! Not only are the kids counting down the days, but I’m not gonna lie I’m just as excited as they are. It’s such a fun twist on the classic egg hunt and perfect for adding a little extra magic to the evening. Plus, it’s super easy to set up. Check out this awesome glow in the dark egg hunt kit we found at Walmart. It has everything you need to light up the night and create a memory your family won’t forget.

Of course, we couldn’t talk about Easter traditions without mentioning the classic activity of dyeing Easter eggs! It’s a timeless favorite that brings out everyone’s creativity and a little bit of friendly competition too. We found some fun kits to add to your next Target pick up order. But if eggs aren’t really your thing or you’re looking to mix it up this year, don’t worry we’ve got you covered. Check out our latest post on dyeing marshmallows instead! This fun twist was a huge hit with my kids, and it’s just as colorful and creative (plus, a little tastier too).

Another great tradition that we’ll be starting more intentionally this year is sitting down as a family to read through the Easter story together. In the midst of all the fun and festivities, it’s so important to pause and reflect on the true reason for the Easter season. Taking time to read, talk, and pray as a family helps us stay grounded in what really matters and creates meaningful moments that we’ll all carry with us. It’s a simple yet powerful tradition that brings the heart of Easter into focus.

This is a tradition the kids will absolutely love and bonus, they’re delicious too! Resurrection rolls are super easy to make and such a fun (and tasty) way to share the Easter story. As the rolls bake, the marshmallow inside melts away, and when the kids take a bite, you get to say, “Look the marshmallow is gone, just like Jesus wasn’t there when they rolled away the stone from the tomb!” It’s a simple yet powerful visual that makes the story come to life. We love making these on Easter morning as part of our Easter breakfast tradition.
Here is the recipe you will Need plus a fun story!
This final tradition to start is a simple one, but it’s one of our favorites—reading Easter-themed books together. It’s such a sweet and calming way to wind down during the busy holiday season. Our personal favorite is How to Catch the Easter Bunny—it always gets lots of giggles! Target has an awesome selection of seasonal books for all ages, and we’ve put together a list of our top picks over on our Benable list to make it easy to find your next Easter read. It’s a tradition that’s easy to start and one your family will look forward to year after year.
We hope this has inspired you to start some fun and meaningful new traditions with your family this Easter. Whether it’s crafting, cooking, playing games, or reflecting on the true meaning of the season, there’s something special about creating memories that will last for years to come. We’d love to hear from you. What’s an tradition that you and your family enjoy? Let us know in the comments below and share the joy!
