Join us on a crafting journey filled with joy and wonder as we guide you through a delightful DIY thumbprint snowman craft perfect for the holiday season. Get ready to make cherished memories with your kids and transform simple materials into festive, frosty friends that will add a touch of winter magic to your home. Not only will these creations be perfect for you to keep and cherish over the years. But they also make great gifts for Grandma’s and Grandpa’s from the kids.

There are two ways that you can use this craft as a gift this holiday season. The first, making it into a photo frame. The second, making it into a Christmas card. Both ways make a fun personalized gift. Today we are making a small card to give to our Speech Therapist with her box of cookies.

Let’s get ready to make a cute snowman thumbprint!

This is a quick and easy craft and does not need many materials to create. And, I bet you even have everything you need right in your craft bins at home!

What you will need:

  1. Cardstock photo paper (Any Color) or you can get a wood frame from The Dollar Tree
  2. Black and Orange marker
  3. White craft paint
  4. Small paper plate
  5. Baby Wipes

Instructions-

  1. First squirt some white craft paint onto the paper plate
  2. Next, have your child press their thumb in the paint, then press it down on your paper.

TIP- For this step we found painting Brooklyn’s thumb worked the best. She wasn’t a fan for sticking her thumb in the paint.

  1. Repeat the thumbprints all over the paper until you have enough. We just did the outside because we were adding a photo to ours.
  1. Wipe the paint off with a baby wipe.
  2. Let your thumbprints dry
  3. Once they are dry now you use your markers to draw some eyes, carrot noses and hats onto the thumbprints.
  1. Feel free to add more to make it special. Glitter is always a fun touch.

Once it’s all finished and dry you can add your photo. To make this gift more special and to last over the years, you can add it to a photo frame. Want to make this a gift from multiple kids? No problem, have everyone press their thumbprints and write their names under their snowman.

Our finished project! Love it!

What I truly love about this craft is that it’s easy to just make for yourself and cherish over the years or it makes a heartfelt gift to give without stressing over money this holiday season.

We hope you and your kids love this craft and cherish the memories of making it together. Want to show off your creations? Mention @gracefulduoblog on Instagram!
