Easter Story Trail Mix for Kids All Ages!

Easter Story trail mix is always a hit!

One of my favorite Easter traditions growing up was making a special snack mix in Sunday School that walked us through the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. It was a hands-on, heartwarming way to learn and remember the true meaning of Easter. Now, I have started making this same mix with my kids. Each ingredient represents a part of the story, making it perfect to enjoy while reading through the events of Holy Week. Whether you’re sharing it at home, in a classroom, or during a church gathering, this tasty mix is something everyone can enjoy.

What you need for your Easter story mix :

• Pretzel Sticks
• Twizzlers
• Cheerios
• Goldfish crackers
• Mini Marshmallows
• M&M’s

Mix everything into a bowl. I just eyeball everything or you can measure out a ½ cup of each ingredient. My kids love making this.

What everything stands for in your mix:

Pretzel Sticks: Cross

Colossians 2:14

The pretzels in this mix represent the cross where Jesus gave His life for us. The shape of two together make a cross. They help us remember the sacrifice He made out of love.

Twizzlers: Jesus’ blood

Ephesians 1:7

The red Twizzlers in this mix represent the blood Jesus shed for us on the cross. His sacrifice is at the heart of the Easter story. A reminder of His deep love and the forgiveness we receive through Him.

You can also use craisins or raisins for this if you don’t want to use the red twizzlers.

Cheerios: The stone being rolled away

Luke 24:2

The Cheerios in this mix represent the stone that was rolled away from Jesus’ tomb. The large stone was rolled aside to reveal that the tomb was empty. Jesus had risen!

Goldfish: Be fishers of men

Matthew 4:19

The Goldfish crackers in our Easter Story Trail Mix remind us of Jesus’ call to be “fishers of men”. Just as Jesus invited His disciples to follow Him and share His love with others. These little fish remind us that we, too, are called to reach out, share our faith, and help others come to know Him.

Mini Marshmallows: Our sins are washed away

1 John 1:9

The white marshmallows in this mix represent our sins being washed away through Jesus’ sacrifice. Just as the marshmallows are pure and white, they remind us that when we accept His gift of forgiveness, we are made clean and new. Washed white as snow by His love and grace.

M&Ms (Sweet treats): Taste and see that the Lord is good

Psalm 34:8

The sweet treats(M&Ms) in this mix are a simple yet powerful reminder that the Lord is so good to us. Just as these candies bring joy to our taste buds, God’s love brings joy to our hearts. His goodness is something we can savor every day.
