Fun no spend weekend ideas

Go to Library

A fun no spend day could easily be spent at your local library, and the best part is there’s always something new to discover. Not only do they often have free events or classes you can join, but you can also spend time exploring different sections and finding hidden gems. Most importantly, don’t forget to check out a few books to bring home and enjoy later!

DIY Spa Night

Another fun no spend day idea is a DIY spa day, and it’s such a relaxing way to spend time together. Whether you plan it just for mom or make it extra special by including your little girls, it’s always a hit. From applying face masks to painting nails, you can create a cozy spa experience right at home without spending a dime!

Fun movie night

A fun no spend day can also be turned into a cozy movie night at home, which everyone will love. Start by going through your old movies and picking one the kids haven’t seen in a while for a little nostalgia. To make it even more exciting, whip up some themed snacks using ingredients you already have in the pantry. Geocaching

For an adventurous day, try going geocaching as a family. It’s like a real-life treasure hunt! Not only is it a fun way to get outside, but it’s also something exciting to cross off your summer bucket list. If you’ve never tried it before, head over to geocaching.com to find local spots and start your adventure!

Build Family Fort

Let’s pull out the blankets and create a big family blanket fort! We love these cozy setups, and they’re always a hit with everyone. Once the fort is ready, gather your favorite snacks and set out some board games to make the experience even more fun. Not only is this an easy way to spend time together, but it’s also the perfect no-spend weekend activity that will spark laughter, creativity, and lasting memories.

Go to a Free Museum in town

Gather the family and set out for a free day of exploring museums in your town or just a short drive away. Not only is this a budget-friendly way to spend the day, but it’s also a chance to discover hidden gems you might not have known existed. As you walk through the exhibits, you can learn something new together while creating fun memories.

Try new recipe

Another great no spend weekend activity would be to try a new recipe, but with a twist—turn it into a pantry challenge! Instead of running to the store, you can only use the ingredients you already have on hand. This not only saves money but also sparks creativity in the kitchen. If you have kids who enjoy cooking, let them take the lead by picking out the ingredients and coming up with their own recipe. My 10-year-old and 13-year-old were inspired to try this after seeing it on a YouTube video, and it quickly turned into a fun and delicious family activity.

Family Coloring/Craft

One thing to give this a try is a family coloring or craft night. As you gather around the table, take a quick trip to the closet. You might be surprised to find everything you need already on hand. For a creative twist, we love doing the 3 Marker Challenge in our house. Simply close your eyes, pick three markers at random, and use only those to complete your masterpiece. To make it even easier, printing off free coloring pages from Google adds a fresh selection of designs everyone can enjoy. This simple activity not only sparks creativity but also guarantees plenty of laughs and quality family time.

Karaoke Night

It’s time to grab that hairbrush, channel your inner rock star, and cue up your favorite songs on YouTube for a night of family karaoke. From classic hits to today’s chart-toppers, there’s something for everyone to sing along to. As the music plays, you’ll find yourselves laughing, dancing, and maybe even discovering some hidden vocal talents. Plus, karaoke is a great way to connect, let loose, and create unforgettable memories all without leaving the comfort of your living room.

We hope these ideas inspire you to plan your next fun and budget-friendly no spend weekend with your family.
