Strawberry Salsa: The Dessert You Can’t Miss!

April is here, which means Easter is right around the corner! And what better way to celebrate than with a sweet, refreshing treat? This Strawberry Salsa with Chocolate Chips is a must-try dessert—it’s incredibly easy to make and bursting with flavor. Whether you’re hosting a holiday gathering or just craving something delicious, this simple yet irresistible recipe is one you won’t want to miss!

This is a quick and easy dessert to make now for Easter or really anytime. It does take some time for the chocolate to set so you will have to plan to make this ahead of time. This is a great recipe to get your older kids in the kitchen to help you make. My 9 year old is always asking can I help you cut. Which I love helps me out a lot during dinner time lately.

What you need:

  • Strawberries
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Sugar
  • Foil (Or if you have parchment paper that will work too.)
  • Small cookie sheet
  • Small glass bowl

Let’s get started

  1. You will start by melting your chocolate chips. You can use a double boiler or microwave for this step. It’s up to you how you want to do this. I used the microwave using 30 seconds increments and stirring in between each one till my chocolate melted.
  2. While you’re waiting for your chocolate to be melted, go ahead and get your cookie sheet ready. Line it with your foil or parchment paper. This will help your chocolate from not sticking.
  3. Pour your melted chocolate onto your lined cookie sheet. The thicker the chocolate is the better. The first time I made this I made it too thin and it was a mess.
  4. After you’re done with that place your cookie sheet into your freezer till it’s frozen and hard. This step will take a couple hours.
  5. Time to dice up those strawberries. You can use as many as you need. For my crew we used a half pint. You want to cut them up as small as you want. I left ours a little bigger so it was easier for the kids to grab.
  6. Once all of your strawberries are cut up, place them into a bowl with a lid. Sprinkle them with sugar (measure with your heart). After that give them a good stir.
  7. You will cover your bowl of strawberries and place it into the refrigerator till you’re ready to serve.
  8. When you’re ready to serve you will take your chocolate out of the freezer. Snap it into different size pieces. These are your “chips” to dip into your strawberry salsa.

Enjoy your dessert!

And just like that, your fresh strawberry salsa is ready—quick, colorful, and guaranteed to disappear faster than you can say “seconds!” This sweet twist on salsa is a crowd-pleaser every time.

Speaking of sweet things, I’m always on the lookout for a classic dessert at Easter dinner. I love a good blueberry and lemon cake. How about you? What dessert do you always hope to see on the table?
