Ingredients You’ll Need:

Chicken Tortellini Soup
  • Chicken Breast
  • Celery
  • Carrot sticks
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Ground black pepper
  • Chicken stock
  • Water
  • Cheese Tortellini (refrigerated style)
  • Parsley for topping (optional)

How to Make Chicken Tortellini Soup:

  1. Place chicken breasts on the bottom of the slow cooker, then chopped vegetables, seasonings, salt, garlic, and ground pepper.
  2. Pour stock and water and cook on low for 4 hours.
  3. Carefully shred chicken with 2 forks in or out of the slow cooker
  4. Add the tortellini. Cook on HIGH or 30 more minutes.
  5. Serve with fresh parsley.

Tips:

Not a fan of soggy noodles in your soup? You can cook the tortellini separately and add it to each bowl before serving. We like to do this because some of our kids love extra broth, while others prefer less soup and more tortellini.

Cooking the tortellini on the side also makes storing leftovers much easier, since the pasta won’t continue soaking up all of the broth. After making this soup for the first time, this quickly became our favorite way to serve it, and now we do it every time it’s on the dinner menu!
